5 good pieces of advice about streaming

Are you holding a digital meeting or conference and wonder what you need to think about? Here are five pieces of advice about streaming.

Streaming is a fantastic and easy way to reach many people. However, standing alone in front of a camera is different from having hundreds of people in front of you. What should you think about and how much should you actually prepare before streaming an event?

Here are five tips to keep in mind:

1. Keep it short and to the point

Speaking in front of a camera is quite different from standing in front of a live audience. The attention of those sitting in front of a screen is more fleeting. Therefore, you may want to make your message as short and concise as possible, so that the audience keeps up. Be to the point, look into the camera and use good pictures in your presentation.

2. Make an interesting presentation

Use images that capture the audience in order to hold their attention, and using your sense of humor is allowed. If you are using graphics, such as PowerPoint, images or similar, you may want to go through everything one extra time to check for any typos before streaming. Think "less is more" and avoid too much text in the presentation.

3. Make a schedule

Creating a schedule gives you an overview of the entire presentation, and will be a vital tool for you and everyone involved in your streaming session. Think of the meeting or conference as a TV broadcast, where the various elements are sewn together in a running order. You may want to break up the presentation using video clips. How should you present any features? We at NEP are happy to provide input and help with your schedule!

4. Practice, practice, practice

Before streaming a meeting or conferences it is important that everyone practices in advance. Standing in front of the camera and presenting your message is a new setting to most of us,. If you practice the script and the flow of the presentation in advance, the message will be better and stronger. Remember to set aside enough time to practice! Have a dress rehearsal so that you can go through the whole process, from start to finish. We at NEP would like to practice with you.

5. Consider your outfit

You should not wear too dark or light clothing in front of a camera. Clothes with a lot of patterns should also be avoided, so that the clothes do not take too much attention. It is advised to bring several outfits, so that together we can find out what fits best in front of the camera.
